FAMILY. FAITH. BASEBALL.
For Jackson & Hudson Banks, the pursuit of greatness starts with a great support system, and an unwavering commitment to their faith. Here it in their own words:
“We were introduced to and fell in love with the game of baseball at the age of 3 and have determined it is a sport we absolutely have grown passionate about. Through the process thus far we have learned so many things already on the journey of which we are diligently practicing daily. 1 st we have learned to apply “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as if you are working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving-- Colossians 3:23-24. Yes, that is deep, but we believe that is where we are at in our young lives and can make an impact by living that out on and off the field! Since that is the case, we ensure we are working daily on all aspects of the game which we have been taught begins with involving God in all that we do putting Him above the game and for that matter anything else! Whether it is praying before beginning practice/game, which I have had the fantastic opportunity to lead many times, (Huddy Banks) or picking up a teammate after he struck out! In turn we need the team/family to work together to become the best we can. 2 nd Our coaches are constantly instilling in us the need to be team players and that means showing up for your teammate/family! 3 rd Effort and Attitude is a constant chant that our coaches will drill into our practices and chants. We have fully bought into this motto! When do drills we go at it with a good attitude and when we mess up we get right back to work doing the best to improve! It is our hope that by showing some of our work and brand others can receive inspiration!
we built this brand to share our journey with you, and to have a positive impact on people in our community along the way.
We were born in 2012 and 2013 and have the opportunity to have both of our parents in our lives we have had an amazing support/love of our grandparents who lived right behind us and would get picked up to spend the night almost all the time by them. Mommom would treat us so good and make us the best food. When we stayed with them we would always say prayers before going to sleep and wake up to extra special breakfasts.
After Mommom became really sick our family sold our home and moved in to support Mommom and pop in early 2021. It was a difficult for us not having our Mommom there always but we will never forget all that she did to help support us. So now we currently live together with Dad, Mom, Grandfather (POP), and of course our French Bulldog Marie aka Babyseis!
We are fortunate to have a loving household and support us on our journey. Our family runs a local small business, which has been in operation since 2008, which we have been dragged out to check out homes that are smelly but full of potential ever since we can remember and even before ha-ha. Our family looks to help people by buying their unwanted properties and then add value by making improvements to them. It is a great business but at times get tired of hearing all about it from our dad lol. We ultimately realize it has afforded us the great opportunity to get one of the best educations from the very beginning as we attend one of the most elite schools in the Baltimore region not boasting just speaking truth. Our parents chose the school because of how impressive the 1 st tour they had was and the handshaking, among many other reasons of course! Prior to Covid we would enter the school and shake the hands of the school’s teachers and administrators and taught to look them in they eye as we greet them with a good morning! Also, the school has classes called “Pillars” and this teaches us character. Our Dad is a psycho about character haha having served in the USMC!!! We see the value but sometimes it is annoying as to be expected. Although schoolwork is not our favorite, we see how going to a place that is so valuable is making an impact on our lives and we are thankful to have been given the opportunity. Our drive to school we get to spend a lot time talking and catching up since it is about a
30 min ride both ways going to and being picked up from. Mom knows the lights on MLK blvd like the back of her hand and man if we are just a little slow moving in the morning, she gets on us moving so we aren’t late. Thankfully we have a mom that balances things out overall though with her free spirit. We clearly get all our style from a very trendy mom that keeps us dressed in the best. Dad wants discipline and hard work, and mom is there to ensure we get just the right amount of fun, but dad is not all discipline he can be a lot of fun as well! But just make sure you always acknowledge him with please and thank you or he will get all in his feelings haha. Oh, and you can never forget Pop, who everyone loves and has a loudmouth that we love. A True Baltimorean who says “Mondee, Tuesdee, Wednesdee, etc among all the other baltimore terminology. He is an equalizer that all we must do is have him show up and we are automatically loved because of Him!!! Haha you will see as we have videos that he’s involved in people instantly begin smiling. Daily things our family does to keep us grounded are reading a daily devotion and prayers at bedtime, and randomly from dad always talking about how we need to talk to Jesus all day! He pushes it and we see how important it is. A family dinner is had every day and we all get to catch up at that time usually around the island in the kitchen every evening.
When we are not at school, we are working out with one of our training coaches, dad, and or one of the dads from our team. We currently play baseball for the Marrucci Prospects organization which is an amazing program with awesome coaches. We are being taught the game by some of the best! Through the organization we have been introduced to specific coaches to help guide us in different aspects of the game. We often go to the cages to work on our hitting mechanics and reps, to smarter team training for strength conditioning. We also have begun running track to improve our speed and running techniques.
The season for travel baseball has pretty much become a year-round thing but we play flag football and run track in the offseason to stay active and have fun. Also like most kids we love some video games, like Madden, MLB; The Show, Fortnite, and a few others. We enjoy watching several YouTubers to include royalty family and hangtime, Our cousin and of course our trend setting mom have also created a love for sneakers! They can be expensive, so we need a way to be able to buy these things so please buy our merch!!
Oh and of course we are obsessed with buying baseball gear to include bats, gloves, and cleats.
